Description:

The Athletics Department at Iowa State University is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Director of Player Development for Men’s Basketball to support the Division I program. This position will be responsible for fostering an environment that promotes the well-being and personal development of men’s basketball student-athletes; reviewing recruiting documentation and assists with coordination of on-campus recruiting activities; organizing community outreach activities. The incumbent will serve as a liaison to the department’s Academic Affairs program. Duties will also include attending daily practices and competitions; assisting with analysis for purposes of player development; analyzing film of opponents to contribute to the development of game strategy in coaches meetings; working with the academic services unit to track the academic progress of student-athletes; speaking to various campus and community groups on behalf of the head coach and the coaching staff; and establishing and maintaining an environment conducive to the welfare and academic success of the student-athletes along with effective interactions with students, colleagues, university staff and administrators, alumni and the public. All duties will be performed in compliance with NCAA, Big 12 conference, and university policies, procedures and regulations.
