Description:

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics Department is seeking a qualified Director of Play Personnel (Men’s Basketball). This position reports directly to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach. This position assists the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Men’s Basketball Staff with overseeing the daily operation of the recruiting processes, provides support for student-athlete recruitment in the University of Louisiana Athletics Department’s Men’s Basketball program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
– Coordinate the daily recruiting, operational, and logistical processes with the University of Louisiana Men’s Basketball program.
– Plan and supervise execution of twelve (12) month vision of Recruiting Calendar (Mail, video, graphics, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
– Identify, evaluate, collect data, collect video, etc. on prospects to provide direction to the Coaching Staff through available and permissible sources (e.g. recruiting services, internet, event website, etc.).
– Monitor permissible recruiting websites provide them updates on committed prospects and prospects coaches identify.
– Oversee and update recruiting list.
– Coordinate updates to the recruiting database.
– Monitor the number of contacts and evaluations conducted by the coaching staff and work with Athletics Compliance to ensure records are consistent.

– Supervise planning and coordinating of official and unofficial visits to campus (itineraries, travel, hotel, hosts, meals name tags, seating charts, compliance paperwork, complimentary tickets, etc.).
– Coordinate completion and submission of required paperwork and expense reports.
– Supervise coordination of travel (commercial, charter and state pooling board) for coaches on the road recruiting.
– Supervise communication with coaches and/or prospects when traveling to campus.
– Monitor and work collaboratively with the staff to keep them updated on changes in the rules (University, Sun Belt and NCAA).
– Serve as a liaison between all departments on recruiting matters (compliance, student services, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, travel, business, facilities, housing, parking, tickets, etc.).
– Support the educational mission of the University and the professional obligation to enhance intercollegiate athletics by providing opportunities to educate students interested in this field.
– Provide broad based and specific experience to students through internship opportunities and student worker positions.
– Be committed to the compliance process an assist with rules-education
– Serve as an ambassador of the University and its Athletics Department to all Public entities.
– Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree from regionally accredited institution.
– Three (3) years experience working in collegiate athletics or comparable

Preferred Qualifications:
– Master’s Degree from regionally accredited institution.
– Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, public relations, interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills when working with student-athletes, faculty, staff, coaches, and administration.
– Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others; commitment to working with multi-cultural populations.
– Have strong work ethic and be a person of high integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and Institutional rules as they apply to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics program.
– Ability to work extended daily hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
