Description:

The Director of Sports Performance for Academy of Central Florida Men’s Basketball serves as the primary sports performance coach to men’s basketball National Team student-athletes in addition to the Regional and Prep men’s basketball teams. The primary functions of this position is the management of athletic performance preparation including, but not limited to, the application of appropriate motivational techniques, implementation of evidence-based training methods, and safe and correct execution of the following training parameters: power development, plyometric and agility training, energy system development and sport specific movement training.

 
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

Strength & Conditioning Coaching experience or assistant experience at the Collegiate Level, National AAU Level, or the National High School Level. 2 year college degree is preferred.

Description

  • Develop and implement strength and conditioning program for men’s basketball National Team student-athletes in addition to the Regional and Prep men’s basketball teams.
  • Create and direct basketball specific speed, quickness, and agility workouts. To instruct the safe and correct execution of flexibility, plyometrics, weight lifting, and speed development exercises for men’s basketball.
  • Collaborate with our Head Trainer and medical professionals to rehabilitate student-athletes following any injuries.
  • Ensure the minimization of risk and severity of potential injuries through appropriate program design.
  • Design year-round athletic enhancement programs for basketball specific training drills as well as strength and conditioning with an emphasis on individual as well as team specific needs and report on progress. Implement year-round nutritional programs for men’s basketball student-athletes.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures, including CPR and first aid
  • Live in the team house with the players.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
Current CPR certification
