The Director is responsible for enhancing all aspects of player development in the classroom and in the community for men’s basketball. The incumbent is in a highly sensitive position and must be able to maintain trust of the entire coaching staff. The incumbent is exposed daily to information of a highly confidential nature and must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism. In conjunction, the incumbent must be aware of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations.

50% Oversee the assessment for the quality of life of student athletes and in conjunction with head coach, assistant coaches and support staff, assist the Academic Advisor with monitoring the academic accountability of current student athletes; encourage positive attitude toward academic responsibilities and personal conduct.

20% In conjunction with head coach and assistant coaching staff, work as the liaison with the Champs Life Skills program to develop and coordinate a series of programs/events which enhance personal and career development of student athlete leadership skills and monitor required attendance at events; assist student athletes with their career and professional development.

20% Act as liaison with current players’ families, providing information to coaches concerning families and keeping parents abreast of pertinent information to provide the student athletes with an overall positive experience at LSU.

10% Assist with the L Club coordinator to strengthen and develop strong connection between current and former student athletes; other duties as assigned.
