Vanderbilt University’s Athletics Department prepares student-athletes to become leaders and champions in life by placing the highest values on integrity, character, sportsmanship and victory. Vanderbilt is a charter member of the Southeastern Conference and is the conference’s only private school. The university fields 16 varsity teams (6 men’s teams and 10 women’s teams, a total of 351 student athletes), 14 of which compete in the Southeastern Conference.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Create, organize and monitor the yearly recruiting calendar as it relates to visits, evaluation periods, contact periods, dead periods and anything else related to the recruitment of prospects.
  • Create and organize the recruiting schedules for all men’s basketball coaches.
  • Oversee the scholarship distribution chart and communicate with the head coach to update any changes or modifications.
  • Organize and maintain all prospect lists, keeping both the head coach and assistant coaching staff updated on the current situation.
  • Evaluate and order recruiting services that best fit the needs of the organization.
  • Act as the compliance liaison for the men’s basketball program as it relates to recruiting rules and regulations.
  • Provide insight to men’s basketball staff on the compliance issues surrounding on and off campus recruiting.
  • Organize and schedule recruit tape evaluation.
  • Develop a plan to increase the efficiency in every aspect of the program and specifically in recruiting.
  • Represent the interest and image of the head men’s basketball coach, the organization and Vanderbilt University.
  • Fully comply with NCAA and SEC rules and regulations.
  • Any additional duties as assigned by the Head Men’s Basketball Coach.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree is required and two years of experience or the equivalent.
