Description:

Assists the Head Men’s Basketball Coach with game planning, scouting & on-court development of team & individual team members. Work the head coach & coaching staff to help student-athletes develop strategies to enhance their performance.


Responsibilities

  • Evaluate game and practice video of opponents & Texas to assist head coach & coaching staff in game preparation & scouting. (Enter Responsibilities here without percentages)
  • Create edits & other forms of feedback for head coach & coaching staff to utilize with players.
  • Creative projects assigned by the head coach.
  • Assist with developing & evolving offensive & defensive styles of play.
  • Study & evaluate on-court best practices (at college & professional levels) to potentially be implemented by coaching staff.
  • Communicate daily with coaching staff on methods to improve on-court student-athlete performance.
  • Assist with the evaluation & evolution of key cultural components within the program.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study. 5 years of experience as a college basketball player, basketball GA and/or intern, with at least 1 year of experience in video and film in a collegiate basketball program. Thorough understanding of collegiate basketball program to include practices, player development, game films, travel, camps, and tournaments. Experience directly related to the Essential Functions. Excellent interpersonal skills. Professional demeanor. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.


Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in a related field. Experience working in a Division I basketball program. Experience developing student-athletes, game preparation, scouting and reporting, postgame editing and statistics, enhancing team culture, and maintaining video playbooks.
