Doane University invites qualified applicants for the position of Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant (GA).  The GA has the responsibility of working with the Head Coach to manage the sport and student athletes in the best interest of Doane University and in accordance with all the rules of the NAIA and the GPAC Conference. The Assistant Coach must demonstrate: 1) effective leadership of the team and the program; 2) the ability to effectively recruit and retain student athletes; 3) an excellent knowledge of the sport; 4) an outstanding ability to teach the sport to student athletes; and 5) the ability to represent Doane University in a positive and effective manner. This position includes tuition benefits and a monetary stipend.

Education/Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Proven record of integrity, high principles and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student athletes academically and athletically.
• Playing or coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level preferred.
• Valid Nebraska driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the college’s automobile insurance provider is preferred.
