Doane University, a nationally recognized liberal arts and sciences university in Crete, NE, invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant – Men’s Basketball Coach. We are looking for a coach who understands that they are continually on display and consistently projects positive coaching behavior.

As the Graduate Assistant – Men’s Basketball Coach, you will have the responsibility of working with the Head Coach to manage the sport and student athletes in the best interest of Doane University and in accordance with all the rules of the NAIA and the GPAC Conference. This position is responsible for student athlete recruitment and retention and is an integral part of the Doane University Men’s Basketball coaching staff.

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Required for Position:

  • Excellent knowledge of the sport
  • Ability to cooperate and work within a coaching staff and ability to work with and teach young people
  • Ability to recruit and retain student athletes
  • Prior college coaching experience preferred

Education/Training Required for Position:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Acceptance into a Doane graduate program.
  • Playing or coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Tuition waiver up to $5,250 per year
  • Health and dental Insurance available
  • Annual stipend

Licenses and Certifications Required for Position:

  • Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the college’s automobile insurance provider.
  • Obtain certification to drive a Doane full-size and minivan once hired.
