The Graduate Assistant will support the work of the Department of Athletics by providing student-centered services that foster the growth and development of ENC students in a manner consistent with the College’s Mission, Vision, and Defining Values. The GA provides primary support to the Men’s Basketball Coach and Program. The position is a 10-month contract for 25 hours per week.

Graduate assistants must be enrolled full-time in an Eastern Nazarene College graduate program.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide assistance with on-court coaching during practices and contests.
• Prepare and plan practice sessions and game plans with the head coach.
• Coordinate with the head coach on recruitment of qualified student-athletes that will contribute to the college and to the basketball program.
• Assist with fundraising activities as requested.
• Monitor student-athlete academic success in collaboration with CSE and Athletic Department programs.
• Mentoring of student-athletes in spiritual and personal growth.
• Other administrative duties include travel arrangements, scheduling of contests, and equipment management.
• Other duties as assigned by the head coach.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborates with other departments and the broader campus community to facilitate a seamless educational experience and foster holistic student development.
• Attend team and Department of Athletics meetings when not in conflict with academic requirements.
• Other administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• A bachelor’s degree is required. 
• Experience as an intercollegiate basketball player and/or coach is preferred.
• Must have an established record of excellent mentoring relationships with students, collegial relationships with staff and faculty. 
• Excellent event management skills and strong organizational and administrative skills are also necessary.
• A driver’s license is required for use of college vehicles and for recruiting activities.
• Graduate assistants must be enrolled full-time in an Eastern Nazarene College graduate program.
• A strong and vibrant Christian faith that connects to the mission, vision, and values of the college is required.
