The Graduate Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at CMU reports directly to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Director of Athletics. He/She is responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects and facets of a successful Men’s Basketball program on the NAIA Division I level. Duties include, but not limited to: recruitment of highly skilled and academically qualified student-athletes, video editing & breakdown, individual player workouts, preparing scouting reports, monitor academic progress and eligibility, and effectively analyze and teach the fundamentals skills and strategies of the sport. Plan, organize, conduct, and evaluate practice sessions along with develop, implement, and evaluate game plans and strategies. Serve as a leader, mentor, and role model to the student-athletes of the program. Oversee administrative processes and procedures as assigned.

CMU has a varsity reserve basketball program in which this position will be required to coach and oversee practices, games, travel along with helping fundraise, monitoring students on and off campus activities, retention coordinator and academic counselor within the reserve program. There are two graduate assistant coaches in this program with around 20-22 players

Applicants must be admitted into a graduate program at Central Methodist University and maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0. Applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree. The applicant should have at least two years of experience with boy’s/men’s organized basketball (collegiate, AAU, high school, etc.) Must have an understanding of NAIA rules and regulations.

This position may be required to obtain a CDL drivers’ license. This position must pass a background check.
