Lourdes University, a Franciscan liberal arts institution sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Francis, has a position opening for a Graduate Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach.

This assistantship will be effective August 1, 2016 through May 15, 2018. This is a two-year position with the expectation of successful graduation from Lourdes University. The position is supervised by the Head Basketball Coach.

The successful candidate will assist the head coach in all aspects of the men’s basketball program: assisting daily coaching and practice planning, game preparation and scouting in both spring and fall seasons. Assist with basketball operations including in and off season conditioning during the fall and spring semesters and recruitment of qualified athletes; contacting, hosting, attending tournaments and maintenance of database. Assist with academic retention working with the Academic Support Center on campus and meetings. Fulfill other job related duties as assigned by the head coach and Director of Athletics. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong recruiting background, as well as strength and conditioning background.

Applicants must be admitted to Lourdes University graduate program and maintain satisfactory progress (3.0 GPA) towards degree completion to maintain the position. Benefits include tuition remission for all required credit hours (books, fees, and technology fees are not included), furnished on campus apartment with utilities paid, Wi-Fi and $8,000/year on a semi-monthly basis.

Qualifications: Required: bachelor’s degree and collegiate basketball experience. Preferred: 2-3 years of previous coaching.
