Description:

The graduate assistant coach for men’s basketball will help the head coach with all aspects of the development, administration, and spiritual discipleship of a successful NAIA program.

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Knowledge of all aspects of basketball rules

Working knowledge of NAIA eligibility and compliance

Ability to assist with travel arrangements and to travel with team

Effective communication skills (written, oral and interpersonal)

Ability to design, prepare, and conduct practice and/or strength training and conditioning sessions

Assist in Biblically-based discipleship of student-athletes

Assist in recruitment of student-athletes

Support the academic progress of student-athletes

Demonstrate in-game coaching responsibilities

Handle emergencies involving student-athletes

Be proficient at working with Microsoft suite of products and Synergy video software

Able to maintain and work within a budget

Other duties as assigned

 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements of the Job:

Must be able to lead practice/training sessions, work on your own time structure, operate a motor vehicle and meet the requirements of driving institutional vehicles.
