Western New England University, located in Springfield, Mass., is currently seeking candidates for the Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant coaching position. Western New England is a member of the Commonwealth Coast Conference and sponsors 19 varsity sports that compete at the NCAA Division III level.

Details/Compensation

This is a two-year graduate assistant position with a ten-month contract. The successful candidate will receive a $6,000/year stipend in addition to tuition for a graduate program. Candidates will need to be accepted into a Western New England Grad school program first in order to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist coaching staff with coaching, recruiting, scouting, practice planning, and fundraising
• Assist with organizational planning (travel, study hall, community service, etc.)
• Support player development
• Help with planning, organization, and coaching at camps and clinics
• Follow Athletic Department Policy and Procedures while providing positive leadership for student athletes
• Know and comply with all NCAA rules and regulations
• Duties assigned by Athletic Department which could include contest management, game day setup, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (required)
• Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience (strongly preferred)
• Experience using Synergy, Front Rush, Fast Draw
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
