The Assistant Director of Athletics assists in the administration of all University intercollegiate athletic activities. This position helps provide leadership and oversight in the ongoing development and improvement of the intercollegiate coaching area through coordination, planning, evaluation, and implementation of the total intercollegiate athletic program. This position also serves as the head coach of the men’s basketball team.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
2. Minimum of two years experience in administration of intercollegiate athletic programs highly preferred
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
4. Demonstrated commitment to the personal development of student athletes and athletic staff
5. Must demonstrate effective communication skills and a strong willingness to act as part of a team

Essential Functions:
1. Oversee at least two of the following areas of athletic department as assigned by Director of Athletics: game management (including security, all event management personnel, concessions, ticket sales, facility preparation, officials, visiting team preparation, etc.), sports information (including keeping the athletic website updated), facilities/equipment including administering the use and inventory of all athletic equipment, spiritual programming for athletes, marketing, academic advisement, academic compliance, intramurals, interfacing with admissions
2. Fulfill all the duties as head coach of men’s basketball team
3. Arrange, with the respective head coaches of all intercollegiate sports, their schedules and travel arrangements for the upcoming seasons
4. Aid in the procurement of qualified intercollegiate sport officials for the intercollegiate sports of the university
5. Assist in the preparation and delivery of information to athletic department personnel for the general administration of the athletic department (scheduling, officials, meetings, etc.)
Related Responsibilities:
1. Assist in preparation and management of athletic budget
2. Assist in the development of Athletic Department policy and procedures
3. Assist Director of Athletics in the supervision, encouragement, motivation, and evaluation of all intercollegiate athletic staff
4. Serve on campus committees as requested
5. Assist with developing and editing the athletic handbook
6. Assist in the scheduling and oversight of any rooms used by the athletic department
7. Assist in gathering student-athlete physicals and student information sheets
8. Assist in athletic department fundraising events
