Centenary University of New Jersey is seeking to fill the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach, who will be a key member of the institution’s intercollegiate staff. The Coach is responsible for all aspects in the Athletic environment including supervising, planning and coordinating the activities of the Men’s Basketball Team.

Responsibilities:
· Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations;
· Understanding the role of Division III athletics in a liberal arts institution;
· Strong leadership and managerial skills;
· Demonstrated commitment to the welfare of student athletes;
· Recruitment & retention of quality student athletes including assistance with Athletic Open House;
· Develop the team for sport competition; on-the-court coaching, both in practice and at games;
· Strong academic encouragement & surveillance of student athletes in conjunction with faculty;
· Scheduling activities including set up of all home events;
· Budget responsibilities including purchase and care of athletic equipment;
· Promote the University, the Athletic Dept. & the Men’s Basketball Team utilizing public relations skills and marketing tools;
· Camps & clinics, scouting; administrative & other related duties;
· The Coach’s conduct must be in accordance with the Centenary University Athletic Code of Conduct as well as the Constitution and Bylaws of the NCAA and member conferences. The Coach must abide by all University policies, rules and regulations.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree;
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
· High degree of self-motivation;
· Ability to work independently and prepared to travel frequently with the team is required;
· Prior experience coaching basketball or background of playing experience strongly preferred;
· One (1) to three (3) years experience;
· Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations regarding Div III Men’s Basketball;
· Valid driver’s license;
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
· First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
