The head coach is the individual charged with the responsibility for planning, programming, directing, supervising, and implementing the duties and functions of the individual sports program.  The head coach must work closely with all others involved in the department, college, EPAC, Region 19 and NJCAA in carrying out the mission and objectives of the intercollegiate athletic program.  The head coach is directly responsible to the Director of Athletics.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Work within LCCC and the Athletic Department policies and procedures to accomplish goals.
• Conduct well organized practices and off season program.
• Possess good work habits, such as punctuality, dependability, cooperation and enthusiasm.
• Recruiting of quality student athletes.
• Monitor and ensure academic success and retention of student athletes.
• Select and mentor quality assistant coaches.
• Be familiar with college, conference, region, NJCAA and rules and guidelines.
• Submit paperwork in a timely fashion and participate in college, conference and region meetings.

Education

• Minimum of an associate’s degree, but bachelors or higher degree is preferred.

Experience

• Previous coaching experience required, but at the high school or college level preferred.
• Previous collegiate playing experience preferred
