Description: | The Head Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for the overall administration of the men’s basketball program, including the direction, instruction and supervision of assistant/JV coaches. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Other duties within the athletic department will be assigned to this position. Responsibilities which may be included but are not limited to, intramural sports support, game management and/or other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY: The head men’s basketball coach will report directly to the Director of Athletics. The head men’s basketball coach will be responsible for direct supervision of assistant coaches in the program. The head coach will recommend new hires of assistant coaches to the Director of Athletics for approval. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor’s Degree is required; Master’s Degree is preferred. A significant and successful record as a head coach in the sport of men’s basketball is ideal. The successful candidate should possess strong leadership and communication skills along with the ability to recruit high quality student-athletes. The candidate must be committed to the mission of a private liberal arts University and an understanding of how the sport of men’s basketball and athletics in general fit into this environment. |
