Description:
Seattle University, a highly-ranked independent Jesuit, Catholic institution adjacent to downtown Seattle, and NCAA Division I institution and Western Athletic Conference member is seeking applications for the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach.  The selected candidate for this full-time, 12-month position will be responsible for leading, organizing and managing all aspects of a Division I men’s basketball program.

Duties:  Specific duties include recruitment of qualified student-athletes with a commitment to athletic and academic success; developing and managing a competitive schedule for the team, including practice, training, conditioning and varsity competition; budget management, including involvement in fundraising activities; hiring and managing of assistant coaches and sport-specific staff; developing campus, community and alumni support; compliance with NCAA, WAC and University policies and procedures; and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of coaching experience at the collegiate, professional and/or national level, or equivalent experience, are required.  Candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate and develop student-athletes, as well as a commitment to academic and athletic success.  Candidate must demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of Seattle University’s Jesuit, Catholic tradition, mission, vision and values. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications
