Description:

CCC/Daley College has an opening for a part time Head Coach for the Men’s Basketball Team. This position oversees an intercollegiate athletic team and provides leadership in the development and evaluation of the team and individual student-athletes. You will also be able to provides a dynamic, strategic and visionary leadership designed to enhance student success through the focus on an “Academics-first Agenda.”

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Recruit student-athletes. 

  • Implement “Academics-first Agenda” designed increasing student-athlete success, monitoring student athlete academic progress, while building CCC Student Athlete program brands.

  • Conduct compliant, well organized practices and contests and reporting the game results timely.

  • Plans and directs the training of student athletes, and assesses individuals’ abilities and skill level to determine appropriate team position. Conducts in-season and off-season team practice and conditioning programs including skills training and weight and conditioning training.

  • Assist in assuring compliance with National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rules and regulations for Basketball, while closely monitoring academic, conduct and physical requirements for each student athlete.   

  • Assist in accurate, mandatory reporting to the NJCAA and regional regulatory agencies.  

  • Collaboratively prepare and manages the basketball.program budget

          QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Physical Education or a related field, supplemented by 4-6 years of coaching and/or collegiate/professional playing experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular sport.
  • Coaching Certification Preferred.
  • First Aid Certification Preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED Certification by the American Heart Association or the Red Cross Required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning and leadership skills required.
  • Must be able to serve as a positive role model for young adults.
  • Must be familiar with NJCAA rules and regulations.
