Description:

Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director/SWA, this individual will have responsibility for administering, scheduling, and implementing strength and conditioning programs, as well as nutritional planning (in collaboration with the Sport Nutritionist), for the men’s basketball program with the goal of improving athletic performance and reducing athletic injuries. The selected applicant will also work closely with the strength & conditioning coach for our women’s basketball program to help provide guidance and coordination.

Job Description

Create and implement a basketball-specific strength & conditioning training regimen for our Men’s and Women’s programs.

Provide guidance and coordination to the women’s basketball strength coach.

In collaboration with the Sport Nutritionist, create and implement a customized nutritional plan for each MBB student athlete.

Work in cooperation with sports medicine in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes

Along with the Sport Nutritionist, maintain the men’s basketball-specific fueling station

Conduct bi-weekly needs analysis with Head Coach and student-athletes

Measures body composition and assesses nutrition needs to assists student-athletes with maintaining proper body composition.

 

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.

3-5 years minimum experience in developing and implementing strength and cardiovascular conditioning programs at the NCAA Division I level with strong experience in basketball.

Experience with nutritional planning

Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple competing tasks and priorities.

Ability to manage people and resources in a collaborative team-based environment.

Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

 

Exceptional Work Schedule Demands

Nights and weekends required. Frequent travel in-season (November–April).

 

Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands

Using and maintaining all weight room equipment, which includes heavy lifting.

Requirements
