Description:
Allegheny College, a member of the NCAA Division III and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), is currently seeking applications for a Head Men’s Basketball Coach. This position is a full-time, twelve-month appointment with a comprehensive benefits package. Allegheny, located in northwest Pennsylvania, is a four year, selective liberal arts college serving 2,100 students with unusual interests, skills and talents.
 A Bachelor’s degree is required; however a Master’s degree is preferred. Candidates are responsible for the administration and management of all aspects of a highly successful and competitive varsity men’s basketball program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruit and retain qualified student-athletes, practice and game preparation, player development, coaching/teaching, budget management, travel coordination, and other areas of sport administration. Maintaining a working relationship with campus colleagues, alumni, community members, and other constituents is key. The ideal candidate will have previous college playing and coaching experience with an understanding of the DIII philosophy and its role at a private liberal arts institution. They must also possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, communicate effectively (verbal and written), have the ability to multi-task and operate within an extremely motivated, team oriented atmosphere.  Additional responsibilities will also be assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation.
