Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
Recruit student athletes who will positively impact the program on the court and in the classroom.
Assist Athletic Director with fund raising.
Plan and schedule a regular program of practice for both in and out of season; work closely with athletic director in scheduling contests.
Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times when athletes are present; work with Athletic Trainer to adhere to a highly efficient and technically sound program of injury prevention and follow up.
Maintain competency in rules, rule interpretations, contest procedures, coaching techniques and general information about all aspects of the sport.
Maintain accurate statistics, records and results of the season; maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records and similar paperwork.
Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times; establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual athletes in accordance with AUM Student-Athlete Handbook.
Establish performance criteria for eligibility in collegiate competition in the sport and be consistent in establishing criteria for eligibility in competition.
Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms; account for all equipment or delegate the responsibility.
Develop a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the University media to inform the public about the sport.
