Head Coach – Cornell University – Full-time
Cornell University, a member of the Ivy League, seeks applications and nominations for the position of the Robert J. Gallagher ’44 Head Coach of Men’s Basketball. Responsibilities of this position include the organizing and administering of all aspects of an NCAA Division I men’s basketball program including: hiring, supervising, and evaluating the men’s basketball staff; evaluating and recruiting prospective student-athletes; training and preparing student-athletes for competition; monitoring and supporting the academic success of student-athletes; managing the men’s basketball budget; working closely with department and University colleagues on admissions, financial aid, and other relevant issues; conducting public relations activities to promote the program and the University; assisting with fundraising; and performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or his designee.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree and three to five years of college coaching experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Head coaching experience is preferred but qualified assistant coaches will receive full consideration. The successful candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules, high ethical standards, an unwavering commitment to academic and athletic success, and excellent organizational and administrative skills. The successful candidate must also demonstrate superior coaching skills, including in-game tactical strategies, and the ability to recruit to a basketball program which is committed to the academic and athletic excellence of every student-athlete.
