Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia invites applications for the full-time position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach. The Head Men’s Basketball Coach reports to the Athletic Director, coordinating and overseeing all coaching responsibilities for the intercollegiate men’s basketball program operating under NCAA Division II operating bylaws and regulations. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, directing and coordinating all aspects of recruiting; training for athletic competition; and planning and fiscal management of all program activities. The successful candidate will: •Hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimally). •Have 3 to 5 years coaching experience (preferably at the collegiate level). •Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) as well as the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies. •Possess a strong knowledge of athletic recruiting methods, techniques, rules, and regulations. •Be able to prepare and manage a budget. •Be demonstrably committed to the success of student athletes, both on the court and in the classroom. Responsibilities include: •Organizing, preparing, and conducting both individual and team practices; overseeing training and competition. •Recruiting student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations through scouting, attending games and tournaments, and home visits. •Directing and coordinating all dimensions of the men’s basketball program. •Representing the men’s basketball program to both internal and external constituencies •Performing additional duties as assigned/negotiated.
