Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) is seeking a qualified individual to fill the new position of Head Coach, Men’s Basketball. FSW will break ground later this spring on the Suncoast Credit Union Arena; a 3,300 seat, state-of-the-art facility. The $24 million arena will be built on the Thomas Edison campus in Fort Myers and is scheduled for completion in Fall, 2016, the first year of competition. It is essential that the coach have a vision and entrepreneurial spirit to build a nationally competitive program from the ground up.
The Head Coach oversees all aspects of the Men’s Basketball program including recruitment of quality student-athletes who are committed to academic success and community outreach. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling, budget management, proactive planning, fundraising, and compliance with the NJCAA. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Associate’s degree required. Experience as head coach or assistant coach for two years at the collegiate level or at least three years at the high school level. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule.
