Description:

1.Responsible for developing and monitoring the academic progress of students through high graduation rates and championship success.
2.Plan, organize and direct all activities involved with a Division I program.
3.Develop, track, manage and be fiscally responsible for the sport budget.
4.Recruit qualified student-athletes of character who can developmentally thrive at Miami University.
5.Plan and administer practice to promote holistic skill development of athletes that serves them not only athletically but in future endeavors outside athletics.
6.Hire and supervise assistant coaches.
7.Purchase and coordinate sport equipment along with assigned Equipment Manager.
8.Process initial and renewable financial aid recommendations as appropriate for the basketball program.
9.Coordinate admission process for incoming student-athletes.
10.Review and update all NCAA squad lists including media.
11.Represent the men’s basketball program to outside constituencies (media)
12.Conduct the men’s basketball program in accordance with all NCAA rules, including attendance at compliance meetings, appropriate record keeping for recruiting and playing/practice seasons, monitoring eligibility of student-athletes in the program, successfully completing the annual NCAA Certification test, and assisting in the education of student-athletes about NCAA rules.
13.Participate in departmental activities, including service on committees and attendance at all scheduled meetings.
14.Participate in activities as requested by the Red and White Club
15.Perform other duties as assigned by the athletic administration.
16.Identify and provide an outreach opportunity for student-athletes in the men’s basketball program.
17.Work with strength and conditioning staff to develop a program suitable for student-athletes.
18.Work alongside the Sports Medicine personnel to ensure the physical health of all student-athletes is being monitored.
19.Engage the Miami Men’s Basketball alumni across the country through a systematic stewardship process along with the help of the Sports Administrator and University Advancement Office.
