Under the direction of the Director of Athletics, the Head Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for the total organization, administration and supervision of the varsity men’s basketball program. The head coach is responsible for ensuring compliance with university, conference and NCAA policies and procedures.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan and prepare for all practices and contests.
• Recruitment of student-athletes.
• Maintain appropriate records and files.
• Prepare correspondence in the course of official duties.
• Assist student-athletes in obtaining appropriate personal and academic advisement as needed.
• Prepare budget recommendations for the men’s basketball program.
• Monitor budget expenditures and plan accordingly for program needs.
• Monitor equipment and facility needs, safety standards and inventory control.
• Supervise all assistant coaches and support staff.
• Coordinate fund raising activities.
• Assist in the planning and coordinating of alumni activities.
• Serve as a site supervisor for fall and spring sports.
• Coordinate an additional non-coaching responsibility to be determined upon hire.
• Participate in and coordinate community service projects.
• Attend and participate in departmental, divisional, conference, and university-wide meetings related to duties and responsibilities.
• Serve on departmental, university, conference, regional and national committees, as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
