Penn State Greater Allegheny Athletic Department is seeking applications for the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Penn State Greater Allegheny is a member of the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The University is committed to excellence in academics and athletics, and dedicated to providing outstanding service to its student athletes. This is a part-time position and is available effective July 1, 2014. The Head Men’s Basketball Coach will be responsible for all aspects of a collegiate basketball program: coordinating team practice sessions, yearly game scheduling, home game itineraries and away trips; recruiting quality student-athletes; fundraising and operating the athletic season within budgetary guidelines. The Men’s Basketball regular season runs from November through February. Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor`s degree and previous coaching experience-preferably at the collegiate level. The position requires a good driving record, organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, ability to travel, the ability to work non-traditional hours, ability to provide leadership and mentorship of student athletes. Flexibility is a must. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
