Responsible for all components of a highly competitive community college men’s basketball program including coaching and developing players, basketball skills and techniques; and developing game strategies and plays.
Monitor academic and team members’ academic and eligibility progress and success, conduct, and discipline according to requirements set by NJCAA, Region 18 and SLCC.
Responsible for compliance with all SLCC, Region 18 and NJCAA policies, rules and regulations concerning financial aid, recruiting and eligibility of student-athletes.
Responsible for recruitment of quality student-athletes necessary to meet SLCC goals and philosophies.
Responsible for budget management, practice organization, scheduling, scouting, sports camps, team supervision, strength and conditioning programs, travel plans and arrangements, coordination and supervision of assistant(s), consultation and monitoring of student-athletes.
Handle athletic injuries and works within the established training/medical, OSHA, risk management and insurance procedures.
Oversee and assist with management of accurate statistical records.
In accordance with institutional policies and procedures-purchase, store, clean, issue and maintain equipment and supplies as required.
Responsible to act in a professional, ethical manner by adhering to NJCAA, SLCC and athletic policies and procedures in all situations and circumstances.
Participate in and support all athletic department functions and activities to include but not limited to fundraisers, promotional function, etc.
Supervise, manage and assist coach(s).
Perform other duties as assigned.
