The Head Men’s Basketball Coach reports directly to the Director of Athletics and must subscribe to the SIUE Principles Governing Athletics. This position is responsible for the organization and administration of the men’s basketball program and must develop effective and positive communication with the students, faculty, alumni, and community. Specifically, this position is responsible for coaching, recruiting, team traveling, and all other areas of men’s basketball operations (benchmark expectations will be identified). This position must comply with University, NCAA Division I, Conference, and departmental rules, standards, and regulations as well as work cooperatively and responsibly with other departmental personnel. The position must operate within the budgetary limitations of the program. This position must support the student-athlete concept and demonstrate concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete. This position will take an active leadership role in fundraising and public relations activities for the men’s basketball program and also the Athletics Department as a whole. The Head Men’s Basketball Coach must be committed to Excellence “The SIUE Way” and may be assigned additional related tasks in support of the department’s mission and goals.
