The College of New Jersey, a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), seeks applications for the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach. This is a twelve month position that resides within the Department of Athletics, Division of Student Affairs. The position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs & Executive Director of Athletics (AVP) and Recreation.
The head coach is responsible for the direction, instruction, supervision, and coaching of the MEN’S BASKETBALL program and the oversight and development of assistant coaches. Responsibilities include the overall administration of the program including, but not limited to, operations of the assigned sport, compliance with all NCAA and NJAC regulations, adherence to the standards of the college, budget management, academic support and integrity, competition scheduling, and the recruitment of qualified student-athletes. The position serves as a site manager for home and/or away games including NJAC and NCAA post season contests. The Head Men’s Basketball Coach is also responsible for all aspects of a competitive NCAA DIII program, including recruitment of qualified student-athletes, practice planning, player-development, budget management, fund-raising, alumni development, assistant coach oversight and an understanding of student-athletes’ commitment to academics. The position will include administrative responsibilities in addition to other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs & Executive Director of Athletics.
