The Frisch School is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and motivated Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach who is committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the court. The ideal candidate will serve as a leader, mentor, and role model while building a competitive and disciplined basketball program centered around player development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character.
We are looking for a coach who can build and sustain a strong program culture and hold student-athletes to that standard every day in practices, games, the classroom, and throughout the school community. The ideal candidate will be someone who is fully invested in the growth of the program and willing to go above and beyond for our student-athletes both on and off the court.
The Head Coach will be responsible for leading all aspects of the varsity basketball program, including practices, games, offseason development, communication with players and families, and overall program culture.

Season Structure
- 14 game Yeshiva League regular season schedule
- Yeshiva League playoffs
- Preseason Glouberman Tournament in Los Angeles
- Postseason National Sarachek Tournament in New York City
- Practices approximately 4 times per week during the season
- Spring practices 1 to 2 times per week
- Spring league games once per week
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective basketball training programs that enhance individual and team performance
- Plan and conduct organized, competitive, and high energy practices ● Lead all game preparation including scouting, strategy, and player development ● Build and maintain a strong team culture centered around accountability, discipline, effort, and teamwork
- Hold student-athletes to high standards both on and off the court
- Mentor student-athletes in their athletic, academic, and personal growth ● Support and reinforce academic accountability and eligibility standards ● Communicate effectively with players, parents, administration, and school staff ● Build strong relationships within the school community and basketball program ● Coordinate offseason workouts, spring practices, and league participation ● Assist with team operations, scheduling, travel, and program organization ● Supervise assistant coaches and collaborate within the athletic department ● Represent the basketball program and school with professionalism and integrity
Qualifications
- Previous basketball coaching experience at the high school, prep school, AAU, or collegiate level preferred
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, player development, and team systems ● Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to positively mentor and develop high school student-athletes ● Strong team building mindset with the ability to lead independently
- High energy, professionalism, and passion for coaching and mentorship ● Willingness to invest in the long term growth and culture of the basketball program
