Head men’s basketball coach. Recruit, coach and advise student athletes. Responsible for the integrity of the program and the performance of the team on and off the court. Community outreach for fund-raising and other promotional activities. Work efficiently with other coaches and staff within the university framework.
Serve on athletic department, UWF, NCAA, or GSC committees. Assist in achieving the departmental strategic plan and recruiting community program supporters. Performs other essential duties and tasks as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Knowledge of NCAA and GSC rules and regulations. Basic managerial and computer skills. Knowledge of coaching and playing basketball.
Understanding the game of basketball. Network of other coaches and people to facilitate recruiting contacts throughout the world.
Coordinate and conduct all training, practices, and games for the men’s basketball program. Prepare game plans,supervise assistant coaches, establish team rules, policies, and enforce team discipline. Supervision of all student-athletes in a coordinated and planned program of practices and competition, with a concern for the student-athletes health and welfare, physical, and psychological preparation. In addition, explore scheduling opportunities, initiate contracts, coordinate travel and schedule officials for games. Comply with all NCAA, Gulf South Conference, UWF policies and procedures
