Description:

Mayville State University is accepting applications for a Head Men’s Basketball Coach, with other duties assigned, which may include Director of Sports Information or Instructor/Professor in appropriately credentialed field. This position is a full-   time, benefited, eleven (11) month assignment reporting to the Athletic Director. The Head Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of an intercollegiate basketball program including coaching, recruiting, academic monitoring of student athletes, practice organization, game preparation and scouting, community involvement and fundraising, and accountable for understanding and compliance of NAIA rules and regulations. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the “Future Stars” boys and girls youth basketball camp and the operation of the overnight boys camp for older youth. The position will also include duties as assigned by the University which will be based on abilities, credentials, and how they would fit into the overall structure of the athletic department or other areas of campus.

Minimum Qualifications
* Master’s degree or plan of completion of Master’s Degree
* 5 years of experience coaching college/high school basketball
* Effective written and oral communication skills

Preferred qualifications:
* Master’s Degree in HPER or related field
* College coaching experience
* Head coaching experience
* Demonstrated ability to provide winning results with student athletes, both on and off the field
* Experience monitoring academic performance of student athletes
* Experience in managing an operations/scholarship budget(s)
* Fundraising experience
* Knowledge of NAIA and NSAA rules, regulations, eligibility requirements and guidelines regarding recruitment of student athletes
* Familiarity with the upper-Midwest region of the US
* Ability to supervise and coordinate efforts of assistant coaches
* Experience organizing and facilitating basketball camps
* Demonstrated leadership skills, professionalism, and an ability to make sound administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
