The Head Men’s Basketball Coach reports to the Director of Athletics. The candidate must be self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible with a demonstrated ability to communicate readily and effectively at all levels with a wide variety of people, both within and outside of the university community. Candidates must possess a broad knowledge of NCAA Academic Progress Rate and show evidence of strategies to meet or exceed national standards. Candidates must be able to articulate their philosophy on successful coaching and teaching strategies with a proven record of success and an ability to translate philosophy to student-athletes. The Head Coach shall assure the fair and responsible treatment of student-athletes in relation to their health, welfare and discipline. DSU is a member of the NCAA and the MEAC.
