Emporia State University, a member of the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletic Association and NCAA Division II, invites applications and nominations for the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach. This is a 12 month, full-time position with a competitive compensation and benefits package, and an immediate starting date.

The position is responsible for all aspects of the men’s basketball program including:

• Coaching and training of student-athletes for successful competition
• Planning and conducting comprehensive conditioning program
• Scheduling competition
• Recruiting and retaining quality student-athletes, monitoring and supporting the academic progress of student-athletes
• Supervising and evaluating personnel, and managing budgets and records
• Undertaking promotional and public relations activities that are beneficial to the program and the athletic department as a whole,
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred)
• Successful record of basketball coaching at the high school or collegiate level
• Proven record of recruiting high quality student-athletes
• Demonstrated commitment to institutional, conference, and NCAA rules
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact with a variety of groups and individuals in a higher educational environment.
