Gannon University, a Catholic university, invites applications for the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Under supervision of the Director of Athletics, this position will lead and direct a nationally recognized, high profile, intercollegiate NCAA Division II basketball program. Coaching responsibilities include but are not limited to: recruitment of academically and athletically talented student-athletes; application of NCAA Division II eligibility standards and athletic scholarship allocation; sound business and financial management; recruitment and supervision of assistant coaches; compliance with national, local, university, NCAA and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference by-laws, regulations, standards and codes; development and implementation of schedules including practice, home and away competitions; detailed coordination of travel requirements for student-athletes.

Possessing and leading with a strong moral compass, the successful candidate will serve as an educator and role model in order to provide a transformative student-athlete experience; to facilitate an environment that fosters teamwork; and that will best assist in the development of a successful, nationally-competitive intercollegiate team. The ability to generate enthusiasm for the program and to engage with on-campus partners, the community and the media are crucial to this position. The successful candidate will be able to support and promote the Mission of University.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and a minimum of five years of successful collegiate-level basketball coaching experience. A working knowledge of PSAC and NCAA rules as well as an understanding of the philosophy behind them is required. Gannon offers a rich benefit package. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
