Newberry College is seeking a successful candidate to lead all aspects of a high level NCAA Division II men’s basketball program in the South Atlantic Conference. Responsibilities include: Supervise and manage all basketball operations including, but not limited to, roster management, scheduling, travel operations, purchasing and budget management. Work closely with support staff including athletic training and strength and conditioning for peak performance of the student-athletes. Lead and manage assistant coaches including ongoing performance management reviews. Positively represent Newberry College at national, regional, state and local professional and service organization events. Develop and manage ongoing alumni communication and fundraising activities in conjunction with Newberry College and the Newberry College Athletic Club. Be responsible in all areas of team performance. Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with, specific NCAA, South Atlantic Conference, and institutional rules. A commitment to excellence in coaching and community relations is expected, as coaches represent the Department of Athletics and the college in its overall promotion and public relations efforts. Newberry College is looking for a dynamic leader who will continue to elevate this program to consistently compete for conference, regional, and national championships. Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of five years of coaching experience is required, preferably with successful NCAA Division II head coaching experience. Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain high quality student-athletes with potential for academic and athletic success. Master’s degree preferred.
