North Park University, a member of the nationally recognized College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, would like to announce that applications are now being accepted for the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach. This 12-month position directs all aspects of the men’s intercollegiate basketball team including recruitment, retention, coaching, scheduling, team travel, fundraising, and budgeting.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Analyze performance and instruct athletes in basketball techniques and strategies in preparation for and during athletics competition.

•Manage all phases of competitive NCAA and CCIW compliant recruiting.

•Ensure a commitment to the academic success of basketball student-athletes, including monitoring academic performance, attendance, and social behavior.

•Provide on-site coaching in tournaments and practices, including organization and implementation of daily training schedules for all team members.

•Formulate scouting reports, statistical breakdowns, and opponent video breakdown.

•Build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and the campus community.

•Participate in fundraising and development events and be highly visible in the community.

•Hire, supervise, develop, and evaluate a full-time assistant, volunteer, and graduate assistant coaches.

•Complete other duties as assigned by Assistant Vice President for Athletics and Sport Management and Associate Athletic Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree preferred.

•Extensive experience in coaching intercollegiate basketball is required.

•A personal commitment to North Park’s mission of Christian higher education.

•Able to work a schedule appropriate to coaching a team (i.e. days, nights, and weekends).

•Able to lift and move athletic equipment.

•Able to travel with team, by vehicle or plane.

•A valid driver’s license is required.
