Position Summary:

The Student Affairs division supports a student’s entire collegiate experience. We partner with students, faculty and staff to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the Division of Student Affairs positively influences the health, safety and well-being of the student body. Whether it’s competing in Intercollegiate Athletics or club sports, being a part of an intramural team, or just keeping yourself in shape, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh supports a wide variety of sport & fitness programs to meet the needs of our students, faculty and staff. The successful candidate will be expected to lead all aspects of a highly competitive NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball program. The Coach will be responsible for recruiting, scouting, game preparations, budget development and management, team travel, fundraising, practices, game supervision, academic mentoring, and community service. This position reports to the Director of Athletics. As an institution that delivers challenging and high-quality educational experiences to a diverse group of learners, the successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity and gender issues.

Responsibilities:

Developing and maintaining a recruiting program, designing and coordinating all practices, game planning and execution, overseeing an academic mentoring program, managing the team’s community service. Evening and weekend work will be expected.
