Primary Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and administers all aspects of the men’s basketball program including fiscal management
• Coaches, recruits, and provides academic oversight for student-athletes.
• Supervises staff
• Ensures compliance with University, NCAA, and OVC rules and regulations
• Promotes Southeast Missouri State University and the athletics program through community involvement, public relations and fund raising under the direction of the Director of Athletics

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Progressive collegiate men’s basketball coaching experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules and regulations
• Demonstrated ability to actively recruit and attract qualified student-athletes to campus
• Demonstrated ability to motivate student-athletes academically and athletically
• Demonstrated budget management experience
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students, faculty, community and media
• Experience in development and administration of summer camps and clinics
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
• Demonstrated commitment of working with multi-cultural populations and awareness of issues affecting women and minorities
