Description:

Southern New Hampshire University’s traditional campus is seeking a Men’s Basketball Head Coach. SNHU is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northeast 10 Conference. The Head Coach is responsible for administration and coaching of intercollegiate athletic program. This includes all recruiting, practice and game preparation.

Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include:

Manage and create schedules for games and scrimmages
Serve as a liaison between the program and athletic training, administration, communications, equipment, compliance and finance reporting
Organization and implementation of the assessment, identification and recruitment of qualified student-athletes. Works closely with Admissions and Financial Aid in recruitment of student-athletes
Maintain schedule for the entire academic year to include, individual meetings, individual workouts, pre-season workouts, post-season workouts, in-season and off-season training/conditioning programs, as well as summer program workouts
Support academic development and graduation of student-athletes. Act as role model for all student-athletes involved in the program
Establish and maintain effective relationship with the University, alumni, high school coaches, media, and the local community
Act as a liaison between University and the people of Manchester and neighboring towns, by conducting clinics for the community, active involvement in charitable organizations and the local school community
Actively and vigorously participate in fundraising activities for the Penmen Booster Club
Maintain memberships and participation in the various athletic conferences and sport associations and affiliations
Additional duties can be assigned with discussion between head coach and director or athletics and/or supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree
3 to 5 years coaching experience required, collegiate college coaching experience preferred
Must pass annual CPR training as a requirement
Strong knowledge of the game of basketball
Knowledge, observance, and commitment to all rules and regulations of the College, NE-10 and NCAA
Valid Driver’s license and ability to drive University Vans to and from practices, contests, games and meetings

Work Hours:

Typically Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm with flexibility to meet business demands as needed. Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and travel with practice/games.
