Description:

SUNY Canton invites applications for the position of men’s basketball head coach. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects and facets of a successful collegiate men’s basketball program. Duties include, but are not limited to: recruitment of highly skilled and academically qualified student-athletes, monitor academic progress and eligibility, effectively analyze and teach the skills and strategies of the sport. This position is also responsible for planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluating practice sessions along with developing, implementing, and evaluating game plans and strategies. The Head Coach will serve as leader, mentor, and role model to the student-athletes of the program and prepare a competitive schedule, participate in community and department activities, and fundraising initiatives. They will oversee the team’s travel coordination and other administrative processes and procedures. The Head Coach will also ensure compliance with all department, university and NCAA policies, procedures, and regulations. Ten-month obligation.  Starting salary – $36,800.

Required: Bachelor’s degree with experience in coaching, instructing or training in basketball.  Preferred:  Master’s degree.

The successful candidate will demonstrate good communication skills and possess proven recruitment experience.
