Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Director of Athletics, the incumbent will be charged with leading UMBC’s Men’s Basketball Team and is expected to identify, evaluate and recruit student-athletes that can be successful athletically, academically and socially in a Division I environment.

Specific duties include: player development (practice planning and on-court instruction, game management, attention to academics and commitment to community service); recruiting and retaining academically and athletically qualified student-athletes; overseeing of all administrative responsibilities (scheduling, team travel, balancing the budget, and hiring, supervising and evaluating assistant coaches); cultivating relationships with alumni and working with Athletics Department staff around fundraising, special events and appearances; and performing other duties as assigned. It is expected that the successful candidate will abide by all written policies and procedures of, the Department of Athletics, UMBC, the America East Conference (AEC), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
