If this approach appeals to you, our Head Men’s Basketball Coach position may be the right one for you.  The position is responsible for the oversight of the USM Men’s Basketball program and serves as a lecturer in Athletic Coaching.  The Head Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for the overall organization, administration and development of the USM men’s basketball program.  The men’s basketball coach will recruit and retain qualified student-athletes, provide leadership and guidance to team members and create an environment where student-athletes are challenged, supported, and can experience success while growing as individuals.  The men’s basketball coach will attend and contribute to department meetings, support departmental and institutional initiatives, be a champion of diversity and inclusion, engage and build the alumni base, develop strong community relationships, work to support student success, be involved in community service and outreach activities, conduct fundraising activities as approved by departmental administration and will be focused on student satisfaction, customer service, and take part in annual program review.  The men’s basketball coach will represent the department and institution at University, state, regional and national conferences and meetings.

The men’s basketball coach will have the ability to teach and deliver a college level three-credit Coaching Basketball course in the Athletic Coaching minor and will perform additional administrative tasks assigned by the director of athletics, based upon skills, experience and departmental need.
