Coach and manage all elements of NCAA DII men’s team, recruit high quality student-athletes, and be highly visible in community.

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

• Develop non-conference schedule of competition against other universities.
• Actively promote the men’s basketball team and patriot athletic programs within the university community, Tyler, east Texas and nationally.
• Recruit educationally sound student athletes with high moral character.
• Closely monitor student athlete academic progress.
• Travel as required for competitions, scouting and other associated duties.
• Plan and supervise practices and compensation.
• Manage expenses within budget and other duties as assigned.
• Coordinate and participate in community service projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Five (5) or more years of successful collegiate coaching experience.
• Not currently under NCAA suspension or probation.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Five (5) or more years’ experience as head coach at the NCAA, NJCAA, or NAIA level preferred.

Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

• Successful as an NCAA, NJCAA, or NAIA head or assistant coach.
• Collegiate playing experience.
• Successful development of training and program operations.

Other Information

• Various daytime hours plus non-traditional hours, including occasional nights, weekends, and travel.
