The Head Men’s Basketball Coach is a full-time position responsible for the management and administration of all phases of the men’s basketball program, within the guidelines, rules and regulations of the University, GLVC, and the NCAA.

Essential Functions:
• Schedule and conduct regular practice sessions in and out of season
• Conduct coaches’ preparatory meetings and teaching procedures for the assistant coaching staff
• Responsible for the search, selection, and training of qualified assistant coaches
• Direct and manage assistant coaches
• Responsible for overseeing and administration of the sport’s budget
• Scout and recruit quality student-athletes and coordinate recruiting activities by working with faculty and University staff to assist in the recruiting process
• Participate in the University’s public relations activities, including print, television and radio interviews, and news conferences

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in related area required. Master’s degree preferred
• Three to five years of previous collegiate coaching experience preferred
• Experience in overseeing and administering a sport’s budget preferred
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, management, administrative and communication skills required
• Must have the ability to communicate and relate well to student-athletes, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and the community
