The University of West Georgia (UWG) is seeking a Head Coach to lead its Men’s Basketball program. UWG is a NCAA Division II program in the Gulf South Conference. This position is responsible for the coaching, recruiting and conducting all phases of the men’s basketball program. It is imperative that the candidate be able to recruit student athletes that can succeed academically and athletically. This position will provide support to the student athletes in their endeavors to be successful student athletes. Participation in fund-raising, operation of summer camps, community and alumni relations/cultivation is expected. Must have a valid driver’s license. This position reports to the Athletic Director.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; At least three years of men’s basketball coaching experience; Proven ability to recruit successful student athletes; Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules; Thorough knowledge leading a men’s basketball program; Must be able to communicate with various constituencies; Must have organization and time management skills; Must be able to pass the NCAA Recruiting Certification Test.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree. At least three years of men’s basketball head coaching experience.
