The Head Men’s Basketball Coach reports directly to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for assisting in the organization and administration of men’s basketball program in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by Vaughn College, the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and the USCAA.

The Head Men’s Basketball Coach must have a commitment to developing a competitive basketball program, while maintaining an emphasis on the academic success of the student-athlete. The coach will be expected to assist in managing recruitment efforts, academic success, and ensure the program promotes the health, safety, and welfare of the student-athlete.

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

• Develop and implement all aspects of coaching basketball including thorough knowledge of the sport, coaching strategies, and player development.
• Assist in recruitment of student-athletes.
• Adhere to the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) and USCAA rules and regulations.
• Work within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and coaches.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, administration, staff, and alumni.
• Assist in scheduling games as directed by Athletic Director.
• Participate in fund raising activities for the men’s basketball program and/or Department of Athletics.
