APPOINTMENT: Immediately

RESPONSIBILITIES: The head men’s basketball coach is responsible for all aspects in leading a competitive NCAA Division I basketball program to include, but not limited to: coaching (practice and in-game), recruiting, fundraising, student-athlete development, scheduling, hiring and managing staff. The successful candidate must be fully committed to all NCAA, The Summit League, and Western Illinois University Athletics Department policies and procedures, and will be expected to work cooperatively with all constituencies and campus units.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum five (5) years coaching experience with a proven record of competitive success.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit academically and athletically prepared intercollegiate student-athletes.
• Proven record of successful leadership and management of the multiple responsibilities associated with a competitive collegiate men’s basketball program, e.g. supervision of assistant coaches, budgeting, recruiting, fundraising, scheduling and student-athlete development.
• Ability to establish good rapport and working relationships with student-athletes, coaching staffs, administration, university personnel, and the general public.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of and proven record of adherence to all NCAA academic and compliance rules and regulations.
• Valid driver’s license.
